CURRICULUM VITAE
I finished my PhD. in 2018, if you want to follow my work on eye blink detection please go to https://www.blinkingmatters.com/research

Research focus

My PhD. thesis was about blink detection using common webcam. There are two methods presented. We analyzed motion vectors within the eye region to detect blinks (published by CVIU in 2016). The other method uses motion vectors as a feature for Recurrent Neural network (in review process at CVIU).

I have background in computer vision, image processing and deep learning. I have experience with image segmentation, superpixels, object proposals, convolutional neural networks and recurrent neural networks.

Supervising

I like to work with students, which want to achieve excellence. It does not matter if you have excellent result now, yes there is a strong predisposition that such a student will do excellent thesis, but I like students who want to work on themselves to become better. Under my supervision Bc. Patrik Polatsek, (Blink rate tracking of computer user) achieved deans's award for the best bachelor thesis and Bc. Tomas Drutarovsky, (Driver drowsiness detection) achieved dean's letter of praise for excellent thesis. Each project with me has my desire to achieve excellence, either practical (application) or teoretical (paper at conference) results. Thesis are in english using Latex.

Personal style

Always do your best, care for others. Teach others and at the same time learn from them, because every human being is so unique with different experience than you are. I like Silvester Krcmery's statemant: If you see something good within me, I am glad if you would take it, but if you see something bad within me, please I encourage you to tell me so.
