Scrum—Human Side of Software Development

Valentino Vranić

Scrum, one of the agile approaches to software development that has shown as very successful in practice, a part of its success certainly owes to its harmony with natural human approach to work. By not requiring from a human to fabricate nor to seemingly plan anything, Scrum wakes sincerity and creativity in work. By giving freedom without a constant control by inappropriate metrics, Scrum wakes responsibility and precision. Without directive management Scrum leads to a harmony and cooperation in the team. All this can look as a paradox at first sight, but a look at the opposite approach exaggerated to the point of absurdity explains everything. Despite being applicable in various areas, Scrum's advantages are probably most outstanding in software development.
