In this workshop, you will first experience drama patterns, a concept that enables to set a lively play in no time and in an enormously creative, collaborative, and inclusive fashion. It also enables to see patterns from within and to understand why the conflict of contradicting forces is the essence of patterns and how patterns generate so diverse solutions growing from the context. Afterwards, we will explore the possibilities of reviving other patterns using drama in order to feel them from inside. We can play some of the GoF design patterns or a certain pattern sequence out of Buschmann's pattern language for building software architectures. Speaking of architectural patterns, we could hardly avoid Model-View-Controller or its more humane variant called Model-View-Controller-User. But we can also revert to organizational patterns, which inspired drama patterns as such, and play them as drama situations. It's up to you. (No acting experience required.)

Valentino, Aleksandra, and Branislava organized a similar event as a birds of the feather group at PLoP 2020, also remotely. Before that, at EuroPLoP 2019, they organized a focus group physically. Aleksandra uses drama patterns in her drama and creative writing classes for children of all ages, both with physical attendance and remotely. At the Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava, she teaches a course whose significant part is based on drama patterns. Branislava participated in many activities related to drama patterns together with Aleksandra. She currently explores patterns of recreating reality in games. Valentino conducts long-term research on organizational patterns of software development and on the nature of patterns in general.
