Exercise 4

 
 

Work on the preliminary version of the project and review article

Use the exercise for consultations regarding preparation of the preliminary version of the article. Follow the submission deadline.

Tasks

  1. For the following tasks, create separate commits with appropriate names.
  2. Draw another diagram in the UMLet/UMLetino tool. You should now have at least two. Insert two images/diagrams (files in .pdf, .png, .jpeg format, etc.) side by side (horizontally) into your LaTeX document.
  3. You are editing your document in a file named clanok.tex, where you have defined the document class type. Temporarily (only for the purpose of this task) modify the document to two-column format by adding the twocolumn parameter to the parameter list, e.g., \documentclass[10pt,twocolumn,twoside,slovak,a4paper]{article}
  4. Insert an image/diagram into the two-column document so that it spans both columns horizontally.
  5. If you are currently editing the document in Overleaf, download the entire document including all related artifacts (diagrams, bibtex, etc.) to your computer and compile it in the MiKTeX distribution. Make a few changes in the local version and verify that they took effect. Then upload the entire project back to the cloud-based LaTeX environment Overleaf.
  6. If you are currently editing the document locally in the MiKTeX distribution, upload the entire project to the cloud-based LaTeX environment Overleaf including all related artifacts (diagrams, bibtex, etc.). Make a few changes and verify that they took effect. Then download the entire document back to MiKTeX.
  7. Try changing the properties of images/diagrams (size, rotation, position, alignment, etc.) in both MiKTeX and Overleaf.
  8. Use any of the offered implementations of the logo FIIT Logo in accordance with the language of the document text. Ensure that the floating FIIT STU logo is in a location of your choice and appropriate place in the document, wrapped by text.
  9. Add to the document any matrix with dimensions of at least 5x4 and a formula for calculating any sequence with an expansion exceeding the line width of your document. For comparison only, also implement this task in MS Word environment. Discuss the observed differences.
  10. Continue working on the preliminary version of the project and review article.
