Years 1980 - 19891984The 3.5-inch floppy diskette is introduced and later becomes an industry standard. 1985Whole year 1985 was affected by moving onto new place. Faculty of Electrical Engineering occupied blocks A, B, C (on following picture, first 3 blocks of building). Department filled first, second and third floor on block D.
1989On November 17, 1989, a peaceful student demonstration in Prague was suppressed by riot police, which started series of demonstrations from November 19 to late December, later known as Velvet or Gentle Revolution in Czechoslovakia. Norbert Frištacký in 80's1985Norbert Frištacký was named professor on the Faculty of Electrical Engineerin on SVŠT. Professor is the highest scientific and pedagogic degree a teacher on university can get. This happend in time, when getting academic degree of profesor was rare. 1986Activity at Institute for Technlology and Informatics on Technische Universität Dresden (Germany) as a hosting profesor.  |
